Hady as Asian Idol. This is what pUnkrOckingEEk has to say
Last night or rather this morning at 12 midnight, Hady Mirza was crowned the first Asian Idol, voted by six asian countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore held in Indonesia. The result was unexpected as most or all of the judges thought either Jac, Mike or Mau would win.
I didn't watch much, although I watched the result show and Hady's first performance. His first performance was not the best but not the worst either. I listened to the judges' comments and I like the Philippines judge. Her comment were always optimistic and so calming to hear. I heard from my mother that Hady's second performance was terrible, but I didn't catch it. So I don't know and therefore can't really comment about it XD My mother went and vote for Philippines and Singapore ^_^
The results show was a bit HIT! There was Agnes Monica, Guy Sebastian, Peter Pan, The Philippines band [I forgot, sorry >_<"] and Taylor Hicks, the most recent American Idol.[or at least the most recent viewed here] The Indian performance was really good. The song was "Made In India" and I thought it was very good. Even I sang with the singer XD haha then Taylor Hicks, I thought his vocal skills improved
a lot. I didn't expect Hady to win, because his vocals wasn't the best and Singapore has only a population of 4 million. The Indian Idol said his country has about 1 billion 0.o The difference is more than our population number! haha.
When the three hosts were about to announce the winner, there I was bragging at how so small Singapore was and had absolutely zero chance of winning. Even the judges pointed their own national idol and Mike. I think Mau was awesome. If she won, I'm happy ^^ Then the host announced Hady Mirza from Singapore. I was like "What what? Say that again."
My eyes popped out.[illiterally ok XD] He was on his knees holding his head with his two hands. The cute Mike pulled him up and Hady sang "Berserah" the first performance written by first Singapore Idol, Taufik Batisah. No wonder Taufik wasn't in Asian Idol, he was composing XD But according to Indian Judge, if either Phuong Vy or Hady won it'll be an "upset". No matter how upsetting it is, Hady won and that's that. You can't really blame Singapore, we're so small and timid XD
I read a few comments in youtube about how stupid voters were and how regretting it is to have Hady Mirza be selected as first Asian Idol. I was really shocked at disappointed at these comments. I thought when Hady won, everyone in Asia would just wish him luck and be happy for him, even though he's not the best contestant in the competition. I had that impression because the judges from all six countries were so international and great ^^ Therefore I thought everyone from their countries are as such.
But I thought wrong. They were spouting at how Hady suck and how the voters chose wrongly. I hope you all realise no matter how you spout all these things, Hady still won and you can't do anything about it. You shouldn't blame voters. Even if he doesn't have the best vocals and won, he's still a singer and he's still our Singapore Idol. He won the whole competition and to us, he's great talent. You all should really try and think of our feelings when you guys say he doesn't have talent. Yes, maybe he shouldn't be the one winning, but I disagree if you say he's got no talent. To think of our own Asian people tell that, to me is atrocious and utterly disappointing.
I thought, I really really thought, everyone else from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam and India would just be happy for him and congratulate him. I know, Philippines Idol was so awesome and her vocals were SO great. Furthermore, she's so cute and lovable. Malaysian Idol has great vocals which were so strong and made me speechless. Indonesian Idol is so cute and has such a beautiful voice, it made me want him to sing more. Indian Idol was so fresh and fun, he's really friendly and his voice was something I have never heard, and it was good. Vietnam Idol smiles a lot =D and she has great energy making her vocals vibrate to our hearts and soul. But Hady won, does that change anything from their talents? No, none of their talents changed from this fact. I hope all of you really try to be happy for him as our Asian Idol. He's OUR Asian Idol now, yours too. No matter how you say he suck and he has got no talent, he's your Asian Idol too and to criticise your own Asian Idol is so shocking and appalling.
